Registration Open for Next Week’s Vehicle Safety Inspection Forum

Registration is still open for the Nov. 14 Vehicle Safety Inspection and Maintenance Forum in East Norriton, Pa.

The forum, hosted by the Automotive Service Association (ASA) and Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), will address the importance of periodic motor vehicle inspection programs and what can be done to protect these programs.

Forum participants include Cathie Curtis, American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators’ (AAMVA) director of vehicle programs; Kya Kishbaugh, division manager, Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV); Scott Clapper, director of vehicle services, Delaware DMV; Doug Woolverton, Northeast division manager and director of safety inspection equipment division for Hunter Engineering Co.; Bill Hanvey, AASA’s senior vice president of programs and member services; Tom Gebbie, shop owner and president of ASA-PA, and other leaders of the automotive industry and law enforcement.

“The results from the joint survey conducted by AASA and ASA in July 2014 clearly show how the majority of service professionals feel that periodic motor vehicle inspection programs are effective and would reduce unsafe cars on the road,” said Bill Long, AASA president and chief operating officer. “AASA and the full service aftermarket manufacturers it represents are pleased to join with ASA in this forum to expand awareness on the importance of these programs to the safety of our nation’s highways and roads.”

This half-day forum will take place at the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia. To register, visit www.TakingTheHill.com or email [email protected].
