Michelin Receives Healthy Lifestyles Recognition

Michelin North America was among 63 U.S. employers that received the 2014 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award at the Leadership Summit sponsored by the National Business Group on Health’s Institute on Innovation in Workforce Well-being. Michelin North America received a Gold Award for its Choose Well-Live Well program, which integrates preventive care and consumer-driven medical plan design with healthy food choices, health risk assessments, health coaching, weight management, condition/disease management, case management, financial incentives and more. This marks the fifth year the company has received an award.

Barry Cross, senior director of compensation and benefits for Michelin, said the award is a testament to the attention and participation from the company’s employees in programs to improve and maintain their personal health.

“Since we introduced Choose Well-Live Well five years ago, our employees have increasingly become more actively engaged in a culture of health,” said Cross. “By giving us this award, the National Business Group on Health recognizes that the program is helping our employees and their families enhance their quality of life.”

Recently, Michelin North America celebrated the grand opening of its Michelin Family Health Center in Lexington, S.C., which is one component of the company’s Choose Well-Live Well strategy.
