Hunter Releases New Automatic Tire Changer

Hunter Engineering Co. has launched a new automatic tire changer – the Revolution.

The Revolution uses the same process for all tire and wheel combinations, Hunter said. The fully automatic process saves time, increases safety, eliminates the need for a skilled operator and reduces the experience gap of tire changing teams.

The Revolution places the operator away from the machine and utilizes an intuitive touchscreen interface that indicates the operator’s current step and monitors progress throughout the procedure.  Additionally, the machine constantly monitors the TPMS location and will not allow the tire to be mounted or demounted in an unsafe position, the company said.

The Revolution features a leverless tool, dead demounting hook automatically deploys to catch and lift the bead and the mount head is designed to work with clad, raised spoke and other unique wheel designs.  Additionally, the machine has a powered press arms for use when necessary for maximum control, Hunter said.
