Bauer Built Tire in Omaha, Neb. was victim of a heist as thieves got away with several truck tires.
About 90 new semi truck tires were stolen, including 20 double wides priced at $1,000 each, according to reports. The other tires were valued at $500 each. All the tires stolen were branded either Michelin or BFGoodrich.
Eight tires with mounted wheels were also stolen.
The thieves used two stolen rental trucks with power lifts to steal the tires. According to reports, the thieves cut a hole in the back fence to obtain the tires.
Bauer Built Tire will be adding surveillance cameras and contact alarms on tire containers, as locks and chains were not enough to prevent thieves.
