TIA Considering Adding Retread Exhibits to TMC Show

TIA is polling its members and those of TRIB to gauge the interest in possibly adding a retreading-oriented trade show section to the Technology and Maintenance Council’s annual conference.

For the past two years, TIA has paired a commercial tire, retreading and tire recycling conference with TMC’s annual event, but has not attempted to add to TMC’s already large trade show.

In a letter to TRIB members, TIA said: “While there were some exhibits of interest (at TMC’s show) to the TIA attendees, the request for more retread exhibits has led us to explore the possibility of sponsoring a separate pavilion. TMC is agreeable to giving us a portion of the trade show floor where our retread suppliers and manufacturers could display products and services.

“However, it is important to note that all aspects of exhibiting from, the cost of the booth space to the electrical and compressed air requirements, are under the complete control of TMC. TMC has agreed to extend their member rates to TIA companies who are interested in exhibiting and ensure that TIA retread members will be located in the TIA Retread Pavilion.”

TIA has sent a survey to TRIB members “in order to gauge how much space we will need on the trade show floor.” Those surveys are due back to TIA by May 9.

While TIA has reached no final decision on adding a “Retread Pavilion” to TMC’s show, it plans to hold a meeting “to confirm participation and begin the process of marketing the conference with the new Retread Pavilion.”

The next TMC annual meeting is set for Feb 9-13 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. (Tire Review/Akron)
