Smithers Group has reorganized its leadership roles with the retirement of Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira president Jim Dowey.
Nathaniel “Nat” Leonard – former vice president of North America for Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira – has been named president of Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira.
In his new position, Leonard will report to Smithers Group president and CEO, Michael Hochschwender. Prior to joining the Smithers team, Leonard worked for BFGoodrich, Progressive Insurance, Goodyear and Republic Steel.
Succeeding Leonard, will be former vice president of Europe James Popio. Popio has been with Smithers for 15 years and previously worked for Bridgestone/Firestone and Goodyear.
Sam Sheppard Fidler, who worked for Smithers Pira in the UK for 20 years, will replace Popio as vice president of Europe for Smithers Rapra and Smithers Pira.
