Robin Hood Sportscars Choose Marangoni Zeta Linea

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) European component car manufacturer Robin Hood Sports Cars Ltd has announced that it is to exclusively use Marangoni Zeta Linea high performance tyres for its Lightweight, Project 2B, Superspec and new Hood RS models.

The forthcoming dramatically styled Ferrenzo mid-engine project will also use Marangoni high performance tyres.

The Marangoni Zeta Linea has major motorsports provenance, notably as the control tyre in the 2004 Mazda RX-8 Cup (The Championship used Zeta Linea Slick/Semi Slick Racing tyres for 2005 and will continue with these in 2006.).

A unidirectional ultra high performance tyre, the Zeta Linea has been developed utilising Marangoni’s PST (Performance, Safety, Technology) platform with its high load coefficient, which transmits power to the road surface during acceleration and optimising the tyre’s contact area. The unique Marangoni FOM-IC (Filter Optimised Mixture – Improved Compound), together with the adoption of nylon spiral belt construction, ensures conformity and precision in the most arduous conditions. The result is a driver’s tyre delivering high-speed precision and reliability combined with total response, according to the company.

Said Derek Carruthers of Marangoni, “We are delighted that Robin Hood Sports Cars have chosen the Zeta Linea 205/55V15 as original equipment for their entire model range. Their enthusiast-orientated sports cars have an excellent and deserved reputation and we are more than happy to be associated with them as an OE supplier. The ambition and professionalism of Robin Hood Sports Cars is extremely evident and we look forward to a long and rewarding mutual relationship with them. This move into OE fitment signals our clear intent of positioning Marangoni as a premium quality brand.”

Ian Rowley, Robin Hood Sports Cars’ managing director said, “Having Marangoni as our OE tyre supplier is another major step forward for Robin Hood, as we further expand our range, particularly with the Hood RS whose chassis has been developed around the Zeta Linea tyre. The feedback from a driver standpoint is phenomenal and really does realise the car’s potential, as I can confirm from personal experience on track at Oulton Park.

“For the first time in its 25-year history, Robin Hood will be embarking on a motorsports programme this season and Marangoni is our race choice – illustrating our utmost confidence in the brand and its motorsports success. The Hood RS makes its race debut at Brands Hatch in July and we already have in place three race-preparation partners: Colin Denyer Motorsport, Broadwater Classics of Silverstone and Dynamic Performance of Northampton, all of whom will be using Marangoni on their competition cars.”
