Anne Forristall Luke will succeed Charles Cannon as the Rubber Manufacturers Association’s president and CEO. She officially takes office Jan. 1, 2016.
Luke has more than 30 years of Washington government relations, public affairs and executive leadership experience. Prior to joining the RMA, Luke worked as vice president of political and public affairs at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). Luke has also worked as president of the U.S. Tuna Foundation, as a principal at MGN Inc., and served as senior vice
president and leader of public affairs in the Washington office of Ketchum Inc.
She started her career in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and has worked in a variety of posts on Capitol Hill.
In addition to Luke’s appointment, the RMA Board of Directors has elected a new chairman. Gary Garfield, CEO and president of Bridgestone Americas, will succeed Pete Selleck, chairman and president of Michelin North America, Inc., who served as board chairman since 2013.
“RMA is poised to enter a new era of growth as investments in the U.S. by tire manufacturers continue,” Garfield said. “Continued public policy challenges on environmental, safety advocacy
and other matters will continue to be a focus of the association.”
Garfield was elected in October during the RMA board of directors meeting. He will serve a two-year term.
