2014 Tire Review Top Shop Finalist Performance Plus Tire & Automotive Superstore is in the final stages of preparing for its 17th annual Thanksgiving Day food drive. The annual food drive, set to take place Sunday, Nov. 23, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Long Beach, Calif., is a joint project with a local Cub Scout troop.
Over the past 17 years, Performance Plus has fed more than 8,500 families. This year, the tire business has a goal of helping 900 local needy families. To achieve this goal, Performance Plus is asking people to help in any of the following ways:
- Attend the food drive on Nov. 23 to help pack the boxes
- Send a check of any amount to Performance Plus Tire. The company noted that all donations are used to purchase food in bulk and that Performance Plus only distributes the food to non-profit agencies
- Purchase a $1 raffle ticket for the “Big Disney” Giveaway”
- Drop off non-perishable food to the store before the food drive
Chip Foose, star of reality TV show Overhaulin’ and famous car designer, will also make an appearance during the event.
