More Price Increases Coming

Two more tiremakers have jumped on the price increase bandwagon.

Kumho Tire USA and Pirelli Tire North America joined a fast-growing list of tiremakers adjusting pricing going into the new year.

Kumho said it would raise prices on all of its passenger, light truck/SUV and commercial truck tires by up to 8% as of Jan. 1, 2010.

Pirelli, meanwhile, is taking increases up to 4.5% on all of its passenger and light truck/SUV lines – excluding the P4/P5 lines – as of Jan. 1.

In the past few days, Goodyear, Yokohama, Bridgestone Americas, Continental Tire North America and Nexen Tire America all announced increases.

Omni United, under its flagship, Radar Tires brand, has signed a multi-year contract with the Singapore Golf Association (SGA). Under this partnership, touring professionals who have previously represented Singapore at an elite amateur level and recently turned professional will receive financial support for their training and competition-related expenses as they embark on the early stages of their professional careers, Omni United said.
