K&M Tire, based in Delphos, Ohio, has acquired assets of Mid-Tex Wholesale Tire in Waco, Texas.
"We are very excited about this opportunity with Mid-Tex to expand and add to our customer base in Texas," said Cheryl Gossard, K&M Tire vice president. “K&M has spent the last year laying the foundation in Texas to be ready and capable of significantly increasing our sales in this market. We moved into a larger warehouse, increased our tire inventory levels, along with hiring and training sales staff and drivers. Customer service is our number one priority so it is extremely important for us to have everything in place before we focus on adding sales in our newer markets.”
The purchase, effective Jan. 27, includes tire inventory and a customer list. Mid-Tex Wholesale Tire was predominantly a Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. wholesaler. Along with Cooper, Mid-Tex distributed several other tire brands.
K&M Tire plans to service its new customers from the company’s existing warehouses in the Dallas and Houston areas, it said. Dean Harper, former Mid-Tex Wholesale Tire owner, will work with K&M Tire to assist with the transition.
