A tire dealership fire in Huntersville, Ala., that ignited twice yesterday is being looked at as arson, officials said.
The fire at Payless Tire in the city destroyed the business and threatened a nearby apartment complex. The fire was originally called in around 6 a.m., and firefighters put it out quickly. But just before noon the fire restarted and was much bigger, officials said.
Police reports indicate the building had no power and the fire was believed to be the work of an arsonist.
No one was injured, but thick black smoke from the fire could be seen for miles, witnesses said.
