One of the least heard about parts of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America, and its motorcycle tire operations in Buffalo.
As of the first of the New Year, that unit will see some serious changes.
Effective Jan. 1, Goodyear is pulling some of the Buffalo unit’s administrative operations back to its Akron headquarters. These include non-field sales positions, marketing, customer service, supply chain and non-factory related human resources.
Goodyear Dunlop’s motorcycle tire research and development department will remain in Buffalo, where its lines of motorcycle tires are produced.
In addition, Mike Buckley has been promoted to senior vice president of sales, marketing and R&D. Mike Manning was promoted to the newly created position of general manager of marketing, reporting to Buckley.
“Dunlop has always delivered market-driven, industry leading products to powersports customers,” said Chuck Mick, president and chairman Goodyear Dunlop Tires North America. “These organizational changes will lead to even better and more timely new products.”
