Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations introduced four new Firestone branded tires at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show: two new Precision tires, a new Firehawk Summer ultra high performance tire and a new Destination tire.
The Precision Touring tire, with a wide footprint and circumferential grooves, provides improved wear, handling and resistance to hydroplaning. The Touring, which has a 70,000-mile tread wear warranty, will come in 20 sizes ranging from 15 to 17 inches, BATO said.
The Precision Sport is designed to deliver great value. A high performance design, this all-season tire includes a 40,000-mile limited tread wear warranty and will come in 17 sizes, according to the company.
The Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 is the new UHP flagship for the Firestone brand, designed to provide high response and powerful braking performance. The tire, which is tuned for both wet and dry handling, comes in 40 sizes ranging from 15 to 20 inches and a W speed rating, BATO said.
The Destination ST, a sport truck tire that comes in 18 sizes, features an asymmetric, non-directional tread design built for all seasons and “spirited handling.” Tuned for performance SUVs, crossover vehicles and light trucks, the Destination is H, V and W-speed rated and comes with a 40,000-mile limited tread wear warranty, the tiremaker said.
"Our four new Firestone tires will build on our heritage of quality, innovation and performance that drivers have trusted for more than a century," said Phil Pacsi, vice president of U.S. & Canada consumer tire marketing, BATO. "It’s clear that there’s an increased demand for Firestone as our value brand. We’ve listened to the voice of the customer and we’re excited to be bringing four new Firestone brand tires to market to hit every key segment of the market including cars, trucks, SUVS and CUVs."
All four new tires come with the company’s Buy and Try 30-Day Guarantee and will launch in the second and third quarters of 2010.
