Firestone Fibers & Textiles Co. is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.

The Kings Mountain, N.C.-based company produces nylon and polyester tire cord for Bridgestone Americas tire plants and other non-tire product manufacturers, and operates three plants in the U.S. and Canada.

Capping the company’s anniversary celebration was a recent company picnic and celebration with company and community leaders. Held at the Kings Mountain facility, the event included state and local officials, and employees and their families.

“This is a great day for our company,” said Tim Dunn, president of Firestone Fibers. “From achieving one million safe hours worked to donating tens of thousands of dollars to charitable organizations through the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund, I am proud of all that our teammates have accomplished and the impact the company has had on the Gaston County and Cleveland County communities. We certainly look forward to a bright future in Gastonia and Kings Mountain.”
