Florida Dealer Hosts Uniroyal Tire Soccer Clinic

(Akron/Tire Review) Olin Mott Tire in Tampa, Fla., recently partnered with Michelin North America (MNA)’s Uniroyal Tire division to host a free youth soccer clinic couched by Olympic medalist Julie Foudy.

On Mar. 18, Foudy traveled to Tampa to coach a group of players from two local youth soccer leagues, the Black Watch Soccer Club and the Brandon Area Youth Soccer League (BAYSL).

Members of the Black Watch Youth Soccer Club and BAYSL had the chance to enter a contest to win a spot in the soccer clinic, sponsored by Olin Mott Tire and Uniroyal. A total of 75 randomly selected players participated in the clinic.

For the past six years, Foudy has worked with Uniroyal and its nationwide youth soccer program to provide equipment and funds to local soccer leagues. Since 2000, the program has provided $9 million in equipment and funds to thousands of leagues across the U.S. In the Tampa Bay area last year, Olin Mott Tire’s seven locations teamed up with Uniroyal to donate more than $3,000 to local leagues.

Continental has acquired the mold manufacturing specialist EMT s.r.o. based in Púchov, Slovakia. All shares of Continental's long-standing supplier were transferred to Continental effective April 2. The tire manufacturer had entered into a respective agreement with EMT’s shareholders, Dynamic Design (Romania) being the majority shareholder. All 107 employees, who have specialist knowledge in mold manufacturing, have been taken on by Continental, the company said. Further details of the agreement were not disclosed.
