SmarTire Appoints New Interim CFO

TPMS provider SmarTire Systems has named David Dodge as the company’s interim chief financial officer following the resignation of Jeff Finkelstein, who had served in the role since 2002 before leaving to “pursue a new opportunity,” to quote SmarTire.

Dodge, whose appointment was announced on Apr. 10, was formerly vice president and CFO of software development company NeoMedia Technologies, a position he held between 2002 and 2007. Before joining NeoMedia, Mr. Dodge was an auditor with Ernst & Young LLP. Dodge, aged 33, holds a B.A. in economics from Yale University and an M.S. in accounting from the University of Hartford, and is also a certified public accountant.

The company also reports that its annual general meeting was held in Vancouver on Mar. 28. During the course of the meeting all resolutions were passed by shareholder vote except for the three special resolutions related to the consolidation of shares, which did not receive the required number of votes. Commenting on the meeting, company president and CEO Dave Warkentin said: “We remain focused on the strategic goals we have set for ourselves and building the value of the company through the successful completion of those initiatives.”

“I am pleased by the support of our shareholders and share their desire to see the company grow and exploit the value of the technology we have invested in developing and bringing to market,” he added.  (Tyres & Accessories /Staffordshire, U.K.)
