Nexen Hires New Senior VP

Nexen Tire America Inc. hired John Thomas as senior vice president of corporate accounts and Western region.

“I am looking forward to the task of helping Nexen grow its market share with our key accounts,” said Thomas. “We have a great product, we are starting to build a great brand, and now it’s time to execute our strategies within the channel.”

According to Nexen, Thomas is an industry veteran with over 40 years of experience with companies such as Michelin, Yokohama, Sumitomo and Giti. His responsibilities at Nexen will include managing all corporate accounts as well as overseeing the Western region sales team.

Mitas, Trelleborg to increase prices globally

The companies said this decision is a response to significant inflation.

Effective starting in May, Mitas and Trelleborg will adjust prices globally, with an increase of up to 5% across all segments. The company said this decision is a response to significant inflation experienced over the past two years, coupled with rising costs of raw materials, as well as increased inbound logistics expenses. Specific details regarding the actual increase will be communicated directly to customers by Mitas/Trelleborg representatives in each market.
