Schrader Opens TPMS Plant Expansion Next Week

TPMS maker Schrader will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 1 for the expansion of its Springfield, Tenn., plant.

TPMS maker Schrader will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 1 for the expansion of its Springfield, Tenn., plant.

“This upgraded facility is a result of the $10 million capacity investment the company has made in the Springfield area,” Schrader said in an advisory. “With this investment, Schrader has created 76 new manufacturing jobs this year and will add approximately 100 additional positions in the coming year.”

The plant will produce TPMS units for both OE and replacement applications.

Expected to attend the ribbon cutting are Tennessee Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander; Rep. Diane Black (R-6); Allen Borden, assistant commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development; and Hugh Charvat, Schrader president and CEO.

At one of its South Florida NTW distribution centers, as well as TBC Corp.'s Palm Beach Gardens corporate offices, TBC employees recently had the opportunity to show their children the ins and outs of the company's role in the tire industry during "Take Your Child to Work Day." The kids had a jam-packed day learning about tires, taking photos, doing media research, and even eating lunch with the company's new CEO, Don Byrd.
