TIA Adds Medical Plan Option, Mandate Education to Dealers

TIA has struck an alliance with Baltimore-based Select Benefits Communications Group (SBCG), which focuses on designing insurance benefits for employees not offered traditional major medical benefits.

In addition to the indemnity limited medical plans, SBCG also will assist TIA members with their transition plans for complying with the requirements of the new healthcare reform that goes into effect in January 2014.

TIA will have a free webinar that will focus on this program on Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. ET. Interested dealers can register at: http://tinyurl.com/tiaweb0905.

SBCG provides insurance plan designs, employee education, enrollment and policyholder service assistance to employees being offered these limited medical indemnity plans and access to a nationwide network of PPO doctors. A link to the available indemnity limited medical plans can be found at http://selectbenefitsgroup.com/tia/.

For those employees of TIA members wishing to apply for individually underwritten major medical coverage, a TIA branded portal has been established at http://tiaexchange.com/.

“With the new healthcare law moving ahead, TIA felt it was important to identify and promote a program that would help meet the health benefit needs of tire dealers, but also to guide them through the transition to the new national healthcare reform that takes effect in 2014,” said Roy Littlefield, TIA executive vice president.
