Yokohama Set for Tokyo Auto Salon Splash

Yokohama Rubber Co. plans to exhibit at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2012, which will be held Jan. 13-15 at Makuhari Messe in the city.

Yokohama will feature both its Advan and BluEarth tire brands in a display theme concept of "being human and socially friendly."

The Yokohama booth will be divided into three zones – sport, premium and fuel efficient – presenting tires matched to users in each category.

In the sport zone, the focus will be on the Advan Neova AD08. In the premium zone, the touring tire Advan Sport and the premium comfort tire Advan dB will be featured. The fuel-efficient zone will highlight Yokohama’s BluEarth-A and BluEarth RV-01, premium fuel efficient tires for sedans and minivans, respectively. In addition, the Geolander SUV with improved fuel efficiency will be shown.

Hankook Tire’s latest Gauge Index recently found that 41% of drivers have experienced a flat tire or tire blowout in the last 12 months. Another 29% have discovered a puncture or leak. The Gauge Index found that one-third (32%) of drivers who experienced a flat tire in the last year said the primary cause was a nail, which was the No. 1 culprit.
