Firestone Tour Donates $3,000 to Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank

Bridgestone Americas’ Commercial Solutions division presented the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank with $3,000 at the July 16 launch of its "Firestone Drives America Tour."

"The Firestone Drives America Tour kick-off event at the Akron Aeros game was a great success," said Matthew Stevenson, vice president of marketing, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions. “We had a great turn-out; many enjoyed the tour activities and fireworks after the game. We’re honored to support the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and their mission to provide food to those in need.”

In addition to the $3,000 raised by Bridgestone teammates in Akron, the company outfitted the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank collection truck with new Firestone eco-tires.

Akron was the first stop on the cross-county “Firestone Drives America” promotional tour. The tour will travel across the country introducing the new Firestone commercial truck tires to fleets and drivers, with more than 20 stops at various Minor League Baseball games this summer, as well as NCAA Football games this fall.
