Maxxis: ‘Major Interest in New Products’

(Clacton, U.K./Tyres & Accessories) Maxxis International reports that it attracted major interest from U.K. distributors and dealers alike when it launched a series of new products at Reifen 2006.

“Reifen 2006 proved to be an exceptionally good platform for us, as we showcased some exciting new products for the U.K. market, gave customers the opportunity to see the winter and all-season tyres we are looking to develop and dealt with a lot of OE enquiries,” said Maxxis International UK managing director Derek McMartin.

“We were delighted to welcome the majority of Group Tyre members to the stand to discuss potential sales options and look forward to strengthening our relationship with the Group Tyre network and working together to increase sales.”

Making their debut at Europe’s biggest tyre show, and soon to be available in the U.K., were the Maxxis M35 UHP radial, the MA-PS motorcycle tyre and the UR-275 truck tyre. The new M35 UHP radial has an asymmetrical tread design and three outside ribs and is designed to deliver the handling and cornering capabilities demanded by today’s high performance sports cars.

“Drivers can also rely on the M35 for superb stability and water dispersal, while the innovative silica tread compound ensures traction in wet and dry conditions. The optimised tread block arrangement and pitch sequence combine to deliver impressive performance, along with a smooth, quiet ride,” company representatives told Tyres & Accessories.

Maxxis also chose the Essen show to unveil its new MA-PS tyre, which is purpose-designed for high performance sports motorcycles. The distinctive profile and tread pattern are manufactured to deliver precision handling and stability, giving the rider confidence when taking the sharpest of corners, according to the company.

The new UR-275 range comes in 22-inch and 17.5-inch variants, for fitting to light and heavy trucks, and signals an important market opportunity for Maxxis UK, which is actively seeking to appoint specialist distributors.
