TPMS Focus of TIA ‘Tires at Two’ Seminars

(Akron/Tire Review) TIA is keeping a tight focus on the tire pressure monitoring system issue, and is using its Tires at Two seminars at the upcoming SEMA Show to help attendees better understand the technology and service of these units.

In addition, TIA is again presenting its highly popular panel discussion “Successful Tire Dealers Share Their Secrets.”

TIA’s Tires at Two seminars will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – Oct. 31-Nov. 2 – of this year’s SEMA Show.

The industry panel discussion “Successful Tire Dealers Share Their Secrets” will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 31 and Wednesday, Nov. 1. Moderated by Ron Lautzenheiser and Tom Wright, these sessions are designed to give attendees at least one useful tip that will help their bottom lines. Fourteen other tire dealers will participate, a rare opportunity for participants to ask questions of some of the industry’s most successful business people.

TIA’s Kevin Rohlwing will host three TPMS forums featuring representatives from TPMS producers and vehicle makers. These seminars will focus on what each company is doing to meet the needs of the aftermarket today and how the aftermarket can properly service the vehicles and sensors currently in use.

Each manufacturer is also being asked to provide a glimpse of future TPMS technology for their company and address the issue of standardization. Following their presentations, the speakers will be available for a question and answer session with the audience.

On Tuesday, Oct. 31 the TPMS panel discussion will feature representatives from General Motors and Schrader Electronics. During the final 30 minutes, they will be joined by other original equipment valve stem sensor providers on GM vehicles for a question and answer period.

Representatives of DaimlerChrysler and Siemens VDO will participate in the TPMS session on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Again, other valve stem sensor providers for Daimler Chrysler will join the panel for questions and answers.

The TPMS session on Thursday, Nov. 2, will feature representatives from GM, Schrader, Siemens, Beru Corp. and EnTire Solutions (Michelin/TRW). TIA said other suppliers and manufacturers will be added to make the discussion even more informative. Attendees can wrap up the week with a much better perspective on how TPMS is going to impact their businesses.
