Yokohama Personnel Changes

Yokohama Tire Corp. announced that Takao Oishi will be promoted to corporate officer of The Yokohama Rubber Co., effective June 27.

This is the second promotion this year for Oishi, who assumed the role of president & CEO of YTC on Apr. 1, 2008. Oishi succeeded Norio Karashima, who was promoted to managing corporate officer earlier this year, and effective June 27, to director and senior managing corporate officer of YRC, headquartered in Tokyo. Oishi will continue to be based in Fullerton, Calif., where he will retain oversight of YTC.

In addition, the Board of Directors of YRC adopted the following senior management changes that will formally be approved after a general meeting of shareholders to be held June 27: Tatsunari Kojima was promoted to director and senior managing corporate officer; Norio Karashima, Toshihiko Suzuki, Hideo Fujiwara, and Kinya Kawakami were promoted to director; Shinichi Suzuki and Seiji Takai were promoted to managing corporate officer; Hirohiko Takaoka, Takao Oishi, Shigeo Komatsu, Hikomitsu Noji and Yasushi Tanaka were promoted to corporate officer.

In addition, Yasuo Tominaga, Keigo Ueda, Takashi Sugimoto and Tetsuya Mizoguchi have retired from being a director; Yasuhiro Mizumoto, Ichiro Kondo, Hajime Yamazaki and Etsuji Hanatate have retired from being s corporate officer. (Tire Review/Akron)
