‘UK Tyre Industry Needs Successful Brityrex’

Brityrex 2010 has been endorsed by leading industry names as the UK’s only dedicated tyre, workshop equipment and accessories exhibition as the trade show’s organisers gear up to return to Manchester Oct. 5-7, 2010.

Kings Road Tyres, Beissbarth, Apaseal, Hofmann Megaplan and Techking Tires are just some of the companies who have already committed themselves to the show, following news of its postponement for 2009. “It’s very encouraging that the vast majority of businesses who were due to exhibit this year have already said ‘yes’ to 2010,” said Paul Farrant, managing director of exhibition organiser ECI International.

Apaseal’s Martin Saint is one of the exhibitors giving the show his full backing: “A lot of companies deal with a recession by reducing their investment but we at Apaseal have always taken the approach that this is a time for opportunities. It’s imperative that the UK market has the platform to promote itself and Brityrex provides the vehicle to do this. It is good for our business and gives us the opportunity to showcase new products and new technology as well as providing real profit opportunities for our customers. That’s why we will be supporting Brityrex in 2010.”

Peter Gaster, group managing director of leading wholesaler Kings Road Tyres and chairman of the National Tyre Distributors Association, commented: “KRT is a long term supporter of Brityrex and we have already confirmed that we’ll be back again in 2010. The UK industry needs a focal point and a successful Brityrex in 2010 can be the opportunity we need to demonstrate how resilient and confident we are about the future.”

Philip Hodges, managing director of workshop equipment supplier Beissbarth, said: “This kind of exhibition is essential if the UK tyre industry is going to be successful in the post-recession world. Beissbarth stands by its decision to support Brityrex and looks forward to taking part in a rejuvenated show next October.”

James Boon of Hofmann Megaplan endorsed that view, saying: “Specialist exhibitions like Brityrex are really important for the trade, especially for independent retailers who can learn about what’s happening in terms of new product development that can keep them ahead of the competition. By October next year I’m sure we’ll be looking at a much more positive market, which should be great timing for Brityrex. And of course Hofmann Megaplan will be there to make the most of the occasion.”    

Richard Edy, NTDA director, commented: “I believe that as the market improves next year there will be a real appetite for the new ideas, products and services that a show like Brityrex can deliver for all sectors of the industry. Certainly the NTDA members I have spoken to recognise the importance of Brityrex and will, I’m sure, be keen to support it.”

Adding an international dimension, Benjamin Zhang from Chinese manufacturer Techking Tires stressed: “We will obviously support Brityrex in the future, as we do with all ECI International events.”
