Federated Insurance is providing TIA members with access to a free webinar, Employment Tort Exposures and the Affordable Care Act, on Tuesday, June 23 from 2-3 p.m. (EDT).
The webinar will be conducted by Enquiron as part of the Federated Employment Practices Network.
According to TIA, employers are asking: Does the ACA give employees new avenues for litigation under employment law? Which government agencies will be involved in enforcing employee rights under the ACA? What are the connections between ACA, HR and employment law? How can I avoid missteps?
This webinar will guide employers through a discussion of these questions, along with best practices suggestions and common sense times for an emerging topic that touches many types of issues employers face.
The presentation will be led by Robin Taylor Symons, co-managing partner of the Miami Gordon & Rees, LLP office and a member of the Labor and Employment, Insurance, and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. Among the topics to be addressed:
• ACA initiatives and privacy issues
• Best practices for recordkeeping
• How to deal with clawback issues and ACA whistleblowers
• Conflicts between ACA, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
TIA members may register online for the webinar.
