Tire Pros, a division of American Tire Distributors, has kicked off its “Allies for Independence” fundraising campaign to support severely wounded veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Fundraising will take place at participating Tire Pros locations through November 2016.
“We are excited to invite members of the local communities in which we operate to give to the Allies for Independence campaign and demonstrate their appreciation for our nation’s veterans,” said Ron Sinclair, chief marketing officer for ATD & Tire Pros. “Through our partnership with The Independence Fund, we will honor those who have sacrificed for the good of our nation and help these veterans transform their lives toward a better future.”
Funds raised from the campaign will go toward custom all-terrain mobility devices for veterans through Tire Pros partnership with The Independence Fund, a nonprofit organization that “empowers severely wounded veterans and the caregivers who support them to take control of their lives.”
Tire Pros unveiled the “Allies for Independence” program at its annual dealer business conference earlier this year in San Diego, Calif., when three veterans were surprised with all-terrain wheelchairs tailored specifically for their needs.
This summer, Tire Pros and the Independence Fund will travel to select stores and sporting events including the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, and LA Galaxy games to present chairs to other veterans in need. Tire Pros’ official mascot Hootie the Owl and a branded Dodge Ram truck and 40’ trailer will be at the scheduled chair giveaways.
Participating Tire Pros locations will have a dedicated collection box for cash or check donations. Donations can also be made at www.alliesforindy.org or at a participating Tire Pros store’s unique fundraising webpage.
