The latest slate of tire price increases unrolled late last week, with hikes coming from Goodyear, China Manufacturers Alliance and Toyo Tire Canada.
Goodyear said that as of April 1, it will raise prices on all of its consumer and commercial tires by up to 6%. The consumer increase impacts all Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly brand tires sold in the U.S. and Canada, OE and replacement. The commercial tire increase impacts only the U.S.
CMA is taking an increase of up to 5% on all of its Double Coin-branded medium truck and OTR products, also as of April 1. The company said some in-line adjustments will also be made.
In a letter to its dealers dated Feb. 29, Toyo Tire Canada announced an April 1 price increase on winter passenger and light truck/SUV tires sold in that country. The increase amounts to 3.5%, and will be reflected in new price catalogs to be issued.
