Omni-United has launched the Radar RCX8, a high performance tire targeting CUVs.

Produced in Indonesia, the Radar RCX8 is “a versatile yet affordable all-season touring and crossover tire” for CUVs and small SUVs. Currently available in eight sizes – 255/65R18, 235/60R17, 255/60R17, 235/60R18, 245/60R18, 235/55R18, 255/55R18 and 245/50R20 – the RCX8 was “designed to handle unique combinations of road and weather conditions encountered throughout the year,” the tiremaker said.

The tire features a silica-based tread compound and an asymmetrical tread design for wet/dry traction and braking, and a belt package for reduced rolling resistance as well as handling and comfort.

The Radar RCX8 carries a UTQG of 520AA and has a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty.

Hankook Tire’s latest Gauge Index recently found that 41% of drivers have experienced a flat tire or tire blowout in the last 12 months. Another 29% have discovered a puncture or leak. The Gauge Index found that one-third (32%) of drivers who experienced a flat tire in the last year said the primary cause was a nail, which was the No. 1 culprit.
