TBC has reorganized itself into four operating units: Wholesale, Retail, Purchasing and Distribution and Shared Services.

Larry Day, TBC’s CEO and chairman, said the changes “will allow TBC to aggressively implement its growth strategy and offer customers the best service and support in the North American tire industry.”

Ken Dick, CEO and president of TBC’s Wholesale Group, announced that he will retire as of Oct. 1. He will be replaced by Erik Olsen, who will assume those roles on Oct. 1.

Dick will remain a member of TBC’s board of directors and as vice chairman of the TBC Wholesale Group.

Olsen will remain as TBC’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

John Adams has announced his retirement as president of Big O Tires, effective Apr. 1, though he will remain involved as director of special projects.

With Adams’s retirement, TBC has reorganized its entire retail operations, combining its company-owned and franchise operations. Orland Wolford was promoted to the newly created position of CEO and president of the TBC Retail Group, and will now oversee both the company-owned retail organization (Tire Kingdom, NTB and Merchant’s) and the franchise retail organization (Big O Tires).  

Wolford will remain as a member of TBC’s board.

In other moves, Lyle Symonds was promoted to president of TBC’s Carroll Tire Co., and will report to Olsen. Bill Hirst was promoted to executive vice president of Treadways Corp., and will also report to Olsen.

Richard Purol, Treadway’s vice president of marketing, will now report to Olsen.

Bill Ihnken was promoted to executive vice president and COO of company-owned retail operations, and will report to Wolford. Kevin Kormondy was promoted to executive vice president and COO of Big O Tires, and will also report to Wolford. (Tire Review/Akron)
