Producer Purchases Label Distributor Advantage ID

Minneapolis-based Symbology Inc. has bought out its "preferred retread tire label distributor" – Advantage ID.

"Having worked successfully together in the manufacturing and distribution of tire label products for more than two years, both parties decided it was time to make the relationship even better by officially combining forces," Symbology said in a press release. "With the added resources of Symbology, and the industry experience of Advantage ID, clients will see benefits in the expansion of available tire label products and related supplies. The efficiencies of combined offices will also allow continued affordability of quality products."

No details about the purchase were released.

According to Advantage ID president Tim Loden, the company had some 500 commercial tire locations in the U.S. and Canada as customers, and the company supplies a range of “consumable products” such as barcodes, shipping labels, printer products, and business forms.

Symbology, established in 1980, manufactures sequentially numbered barcode labels for a wide range of applications, including for library, blood, tire, fresh produce, medical, and material handling.
