Goodway Keeps Cool With Premium Retread Range

Supercool, the flagship retread range produced by Goodway Rubber is, says the Malaysia-based company, the product of many years’ innovation and invention, guided by a single dominant principle – caring for the people who produce the product and those who use it.

As Malaysia’s largest retreader and manufacturer of rubber compounds, Goodway believes its strength stems from its people, and the company boasts having some of the industry’s finest minds as part of its team, who carry with them a wealth of hands-on experience and industry knowledge. The fruit of this fortuitous combination is, in Goodway’s own words, uncompromising safety and durability.

The tangible result of this veritable brain trust and considerable experience is the Supercool range of premium rubber products, created using compounds certified by TÜV Germany. Goodway reports that advanced and stringent quality control processes have been utilised in the production process, and before gaining final approval the Supercool range was subject to and passed rigid laboratory and field tests. In the Martens Apparatus Test, Supercool liners were reportedly found to contain a lower heat build-up propensity than other retreads, staying up to 40% cooler. This translates to a prolonged tyre life span by preventing premature tyre blowouts.

Goodway offers a wide range of Supercool retread rubber compounds and tread designs, a line-up intended to meet a broad variety of user requirements in a multitude of applications, in terrains as diverse as the arctic and arid deserts, off-road ground to city asphalt expressways. The following products are available as part of in the Supercool range:

Supercool Premium – During production, the Supercool pre-cured tread liners are subjected to a cold retreading process at temperatures ranging from 99°C to 115°C. Each pre-cured tread liner has its unique tread pattern, a feature Goodway incorporated in the interests of superior mileage, improved casing retreadability and safety. The Supercool liners, adds the Malaysian retreader, offer a sizeable advantage over ordinary liners in terms of heat dispersion, remaining up to 40% cooler on the road.

Supercool Hi-M – The compound used in the Hi-M range is reported to provide 20% greater mileage than its predecessor, and is formulated for high-speed use with heavy loads on either city roads or motorways. The liner was designed with value in mind, optimising the tyre’s lifespan and reducing wear and tear over its working life.

Supercool LRS – the liners used in the Supercool LRS were formulated specifically with value for money in mind. According to Goodway, the compounds employed allow for substantial fuel savings through lowered rolling resistance. At the same time, Supercool LRS offers increased safety through enhanced wet traction performance. These robust tyres are said to be longer lasting compared to ordinary tyres.

Supercool Cushion Gum CG99 – This pine-tar free cushion gum has been developed to the same quality standards as conventional liners without harming the environment. Tall oil resin, found in pine tar oil, causes skin irritation and is listed as a hazardous component in the Material Safety Data Sheet. Supercool Cushion Gum CG99 is a fast-cure compound for use at 99°C.

Goodway reports widely distributing the Supercool range via its sales offices in Malaysia, China, Australia, USA, Indonesia, Germany and Sweden. Further information about the range is available at the company’s Web site: http://www.goodway-integrated.com. (Tyres & Accessories/Staffordshire, U.K.)
