It turned out to be an inside job. Police yesterday arrested a 38-year-old employee of Goodyear’s Fayetteville, N.C., tire plant in connection with a bomb threat made at the facility earlier this year.
Back on March 10, Fayetteville police said, the employee called the plant claiming there was a bomb in employee break room at the plant. The facility was evacuated and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad recovered a device that was in a package wedged behind vending machines.
It was not a bomb, as it turned out.
The man was charged with making a threatening call, and other charges are pending. Still, he was released on $500 bond.
