The Cooper Tire & Rubber Foundation has announced five students who will each receive a $1,000 Cooper Centennial Scholarship.
“This is an outstanding group of students who have not only excelled in the classroom, but have also devoted significant time and energy to volunteer with community groups while often holding part-time jobs as well,” said Cooper chairman, CEO and president Roy Armes. “Congratulations to all of the excellent students who applied, and best wishes to the winners as they pursue their studies at the next level.”
Now in its second year, the program was originally created to commemorate Cooper’s 100th anniversary in 2014 and assist the children of Cooper employees in the United States with their post-secondary education, Cooper said.
The scholarship is administered by the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, an independent philanthropic agency, and scholarship winners include:
- Kathryn Harry who plans to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
- Allison Kreinbrink who plans to study Biomedical Engineering at The Ohio State University.
- Alyssa Langhals who plans to study Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University.
- Mariah Waaland who plans to study Neurosciences at Bowling Green State University.
- Kiersa Warwick who plans to study Business with a focus on Marketing at California Lutheran University.
