Cooper Adds Hockey Charity to Latest Promotion

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. last week announced the launch of its latest "Take the Money and Ride" promotion, offering Visa gift cards to U.S. buyers of a set of certain Cooper tires.

Canadian customers taking advantage of the promotion will help support youth hockey through a new partnership between Cooper and Hockey Education Reaching Out Society (HEROS).

Under a multi-year sponsorship agreement, Cooper will help support the charity. With the “Take the Money & Ride” promotion, not only will Canadian drivers earn a $75 Visa gift card, they will also have the option to donate $5 of the reward to HEROS, which Cooper will match up to an aggregate of $25,000 in matching donations.

"HEROS is an incredible organization, teaching children to value education and hard work – two pillars we value at Cooper Tire," said Chris Ostrander, Cooper president of North America tire operations. "For every consumer that donates a portion of their reward from the Take the Money & Ride Event, Cooper Tire will also make a matching donation."

Focusing on children from diverse economic backgrounds throughout Canada, HEROS “provides a positive environment where every child is a ‘hero,’” the group said. Participants are hand-picked for the program by their teachers, and HEROS works closely with schools across Canada.

The promotion, which runs from Aug. 24 through Nov. 6, supports Cooper CS4 Touring, Discoverer A/T3, Discoverer CTS, Discoverer H/T and H/T Plus lines.
