The awards ceremony took place at West Coast Customs’ state-of-the-art facility in Corona, Calif. The Grand Prize Charger was custom-built by West Coast Customs and features Giovanna Wheels.
The sweepstakes, which ran from Sept. 17, 2007 to Jan. 17, 2008, was held in conjunction with the DVD release of “The Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.” The contest was supported with point-of-sale displays at Continental dealerships nationwide, with a Web banner ad campaign, and with ads in Primedia, HFM and DUB Magazine.
“The idea behind the promotion was to raise the Continental brand profile to millions of consumers while also providing a unique way to sell tires,” said Travis Roffler, CTNA’s director of marketing. “We were extremely happy with the resulting record number of entries we received.”
Charles MacKinnon of San Simeon, Calif, won first prize, a specially-designed custom Gibson guitar; and second prize, an X-Box 360 with a Fantastic 4 Prize Pack, went to Joe Cheung of Sacramento, Calif. (Tire Review/Akron)
