Conti ‘Top’ Brand in German Magazine Surveys

It’s been a double victory for the home team as Continental receives first place in two German magazine polls. The tiremaker says, as you may expect, that it is very pleased with the results of the AutoBild and Auto Zeitung reader surveys.
The German manufacturer was a treble winner at AutoBild, finishing in first place in all three categories included under the “best passenger car tire” category: Continental was voted top for ‘quality’ by 70% of the 70,000 or so respondents (readers were permitted to vote for more than one brand), the best ‘sport tire’ brand (by 53% of respondents) and ‘value for money’ (37%).
“Naturally we are very pleased that our premium Continental tire brand has again been very positively rated by AutoBild’s readers,” commented Wolfgang Thomale, who is responsible for replacement market passenger and light truck tire marketing and sales in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In regards to the best wheels and rims, the AutoBild survey respondents voted BBS top for both ‘quality’ (by 65% of respondents) and ‘appearance/design’ (62%). Borbet and OZ were ranked second and third in the quality segment; they swapped placed for appearance/design.
In the annual “Top Brand” survey held by car magazine Auto Zeitung, around 20,000 readers voted Continental to be the tire brand they consider the best. The German manufacturer received top billing in the ‘tire’ category ahead of Michelin, Dunlop, Bridgestone and Pirelli. The results were published in issue 6/14 of Auto Zeitung.
“We are delighted about this award and the trust that Auto Zeitung readers place in our premium tire brand Continental,” stated Thomale. “In addition to the excellent results in summer and winter tire tests, the numerous approvals from vehicle manufacturers – which Auto Zeitung readers can find in almost all vehicle reports – are presumably also having an impact on how our brand is perceived.”
This is the sixth time that Auto Zeitung’s readers have voted Continental the top tire brand. “Even though we have been awarded as the top tire brand several times before, it has given our entire team a high level of motivation to defend their leading position in the future as well,” added Thomale.
BBS was voted the top wheel brand, followed by OZ, Borbet, Ronal and ATS. Bosch was placed ahead of Varta, Banner, Moll and Exide as the top battery brand, while Brembo was voted the best brake brand, above Bosch, ATE and Textar. (Tyres & Accessories)
