BFNAT Plant Gets State Honors

(Akron/Tire Review) Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire’s (BFNAT) tire plant in Aiken, S.C., received the South Carolina Silver Crescent Award for Manufacturing Excellence in the large manufacturer category.

The award was announced during the Advanced Manufacturing & Productivity Exposition and Conference in Greenville, S.C.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Mike Rose, Aiken plant manager. “Our teammates’ dedication and character demonstrate the values and commitment it takes to be recognized by notable organizations like the Silver Crescent Foundation.”

The South Carolina Silver Crescent Award for Manufacturing Excellence was established in 2002 to recognize manufacturers in the state based on their economic impact, commitment to the workforce, and involvement and contributions to their communities.

Falken Tires team takes second at the 2024 East vs. West vs. Texas W.E. Rock Championship Rock Crawling Series

George and Lora Leyner took second-place at the 2024 East vs. West vs. Texas W.E. Rock Championship Rock Crawling Series event.

Falken Tires team drivers George and Lora Leyner achieved a second-place finish at the 2024 East vs. West vs. Texas W.E. Rock Championship Rock Crawling Series event. Starting their event, the Leyners faced mechanical difficulties after they broke the short side of their front shaft during their run on the first course, causing them to drop out of the fourth gate. They managed to finish the course and within a short amount of time before the second course began, the Leyners succeeded in replacing the broken shaft. George and Lora were still able to secure a nine-point lead at the end of the first day.
