VDO REDI-Sensor Installer Kit Simplifies TPMS Service

Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket has introduced the VDO REDI-Sensor Installer Kit designed to make TPMS servicing easier.

The kit, with one of each of three REDI-Sensor assemblies and four sensor service kits, the kit allows technicians to cover 85% of TPMS equipped vehicles without waiting for parts delivery, according to the company.

More than 140 OE sensors can be replaced by the VDO REDI-Sensor Multi-application TPMS sensors. Additionally the sensors are designed to follow OE vehicle relearn procedures, and works with all major TPMS scan tools, including those from ATEQ, Bartec, OTC / SPX, K-Tool (T.I.P.S.) and Snap-on, the company said.

Forty-one percent of drivers got a flat tire in the last 12 months

Over a quarter (28%) of drivers opted to change the flat themselves, and 24% called roadside assistance.

Hankook Tire’s latest Gauge Index recently found that 41% of drivers have experienced a flat tire or tire blowout in the last 12 months. Another 29% have discovered a puncture or leak. The Gauge Index found that one-third (32%) of drivers who experienced a flat tire in the last year said the primary cause was a nail, which was the No. 1 culprit.
