Auto Care Association, IHS Hosting ‘Connected Car’ Webinar

The Auto Care Association and IHS Markit are continuing their Industry Analysis Webinar Series with “The Connected Car 2016 – Electronics and Software Impacting the Service Car Industry.”

The webinar, presented by Colin Bird, IHS senior automotive analyst, will take place Aug. 17 at 2 p.m.

Electronics and software in a modern vehicle accounts for nearly 50% of the vehicle’s value, according to IHS Markit. As connected cars become a larger share of the marketplace, it’s important for repair shops to understand how these vehicles impact their business.

The webinar will cover how advances in technology may impact the vehicle service and repair industry, or the do-it-for-me industry, by forcing more customers into specific channels, such as franchised car dealers. The webinar will also discuss consumer desirability of specific telematics, infotainment, comfort and safety features, desired telematics services and concerns with the idea of self-driving cars, the association said.

The webinar is free, but attendees are encouraged to register early here.
