Yokohama’s Rick Phillips Joins Triangle

Tire industry veteran Rick Phillips is joining Triangle Tire USA as vice president of sales after 18 years with Yokohama Tire Corp.

“We are very pleased to welcome Rick to the Triangle Tire team,” said Manny Cicero, CEO of Triangle Tire USA. “He’s a proven sales leader who has earned widespread respect in the industry. When we announced Triangle Tire USA last year, we said a primary goal was to establish long-term relationships with key distributors and dealers.  Rick will play a central role in making that happen.”

Phillips, the former vice president of sales at Yokohama, joined the tiremaker in 1999 and moved up from district sales manager to manager of commercial sales. In 2011, he was promoted to director of commercial sales, and later senior director of commercial and OTR sales in 2013, before coming vice president of sales in 2015.

Prior to joining Yokohama, Phillips worked at Joe Esco Tire Corp., where he held several positions, including corporate sales manager.

“We sincerely wish Rick well with his new endeavor and thank him for his contributions,” said Jeff Barna, Yokohama Tire Corp. chief operating officer. “Yokohama’s leadership team is committed to maintaining the strong momentum that we are experiencing and will be moving quickly to fill this important position.”

Triangle Tire USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of China’s Triangle Tyre Co., is based in Franklin, Tenn.
