While the full final decision will be issued in the next few days, the World Trade Organization has rejected China’s appeal of the Obama Administration’s added tariff on consumer tires imported from China.
The WTO’s dispute panel will issue its full report in mid-December, which will give better insight into the panel’s reasoning for rejecting China’s appeal of the three-year, tiered added tariff.
The added tariff was first enacted Sept. 26, 2009, at 35%, and dropped to 30% one-year later. It is slated to fall to 25% on Sept. 26, 2011.
