War Vet Wins Hot Mustang in BFGoodrich Contest

(Akron/Tire Review) Michelin North America’s BFGoodrich unit presented a fully customized Ford Mustang GT to an Iraq war veteran, Chad Howell of Johnstown, Pa., the winner of the tire marketer’s World’s Hottest Mustang sweepstakes.

The Marine corporal’s name was picked from sweepstakes entries, and he received the car during the NBA All-Star Game weekend in Houston this past weekend. The custom car was designed by Chip Foose and built by Dallas-based Unique Performance.

“All of us at BFGoodrich Tires are really happy that an American hero will be taking home this Chip Foose original,” said Kaz Holley, BFGoodrich brand director for North America. “The World’s Hottest Mustang is brilliantly designed, and we are excited to have worked with Foose on this one-of-a-kind custom car.”

“At first, I didn’t believe the letter that I received. I had to call and confirm that I had actually won,” Howell said.  “This car is amazing! I wish I had a long stretch of road to really drive it, but I don’t want to mess up the car. Everything from the paint job, custom wheels, audio system and interior is unbelievable. You can see as many pictures of this car as you want, but they just don’t do it justice.”
