Vredestein is introducing new sizes in its radial Flotation Trac series at Agritechnica. The Flotation Trac will be available in 900/65R32 and 900/65R38 sizes. The company says the 900/65R38 tire is the world’s tallest radial flotation tire with a diameter of 2.15 meters (about 7.05 feet).
The Flotation Trac XL is narrower than a 1050 tire, the company says, which leads to fewer restrictions in the total vehicle width. Because a lower tire pressure can be used, there is less soil compaction and rutting compared to a 1050/50R32.
The Flotation Trac profile consists of transverse lugs towards the shoulder of the tread. The block profile in the middle helps to provide low rolling resistance on the road and a quiet ride. Due to the rounded shoulders and the lack of sharp edges and corners in the tread, the tire will stay friendly to grasslands, the company adds.
Vredestein is also introducing the 900/65R32 size. The company says this tire offers an almost equally-low tire pressure, but with a tire height of two meters (about 78 in.). Both sizes will be unveiled at Agritechnica 2019, which takes place from Nov. 10-16 in Hanover.
