The U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association penned a letter to President Donald Trump expressing its concern about the tariffs he signed in an executive order Thursday.
The letter signed by the presidents of the top 10 tiremakers in the U.S. asks Trump to exclude the tire industry from the 25% percent tariff he placed on steel.
In the letter, USTMA says some grades of steel used in the tire-making process are not available domestically, which leaves manufacturers to turn to foreign products.
