Universal Opens New Branches

Universal Tyres Autocentres Ltd. has opened a new retail branch in Thurrock and redeveloped its Greenwich outlet on Blackwall Lane, Greenwich. The new Thurrock store is directly opposite West Thurrock’s famous QEII bridge and is a purpose built autocare facility, employing three fitters.

Store manager Kevin McGill revealed the secret to the company’s success: “We are a small, but highly skilled team here at universal. Between us we have over 35 years experience in the automotive trade. We have built up an exhaustive knowledge of autocare and in addition we each have a number of specialist skills which means we can provide a fully comprehensive service to all our customers – whatever their requirements.”

Universal Tyres Autocentres is fully equipped to offer a complete range of tyre and automotive services including tyres, exhausts, brakes, shocks, wheel alignment and clutches. The store prides itself in offering prices to suit every pocket. Servicing is an essential part of modern car care and Universal Tyres provides a full servicing facility to a full range of vehicles including cars, motorbikes and light commercial vehicles.

The centre also provides a mobile service to drivers left stranded within a 15-mile radius from the store. In order to meet the needs of the region’s business community, the store also provides a 24-hour mobile truck service, which operates within a 25 mile radius from the store.

The new Universal Tyres centre on Blackwall Lane, Greenwich is no ordinary looking fast fit centre. Reopened earlier this year after being completely redeveloped, the modern, sleek look of the newly built centre is reflected in its interior which has been equipped with the latest automotive technology in order to cater to a comprehensive range of cars, motorbikes and light commercial vehicles.

The Universal Tyre Group has been distributing tyres since it was established in 1923. The largest independent tyre distributor in the South East, the Greenwich centre is the group’s flagship store and provides a comprehensive service to customers throughout Greenwich, Blackheath, Charlton and South East London.

Darren Moss has been manager at the Greenwich centre for over eight years: “We are an independent business with the needs of the customers as our number one priority. As a result, Universal Tyres has developed a reputation for offering a high quality automotive service that is over and above what you would expect from a traditional fast-fit store.”

Five trained specialists are on hand in the Greenwich centre. (Tyres & Accessories/Staffordshire, U.K.)
