Indonesia media outlets and Reuters reported last week that French tiremaker Michelin is planning to build a rubber processing plant in Indonesia.
Media reports have cited Republic of Indonesia Minister of Industries Saleh Husin as a source familiar with the situation. Reuters, however, has not verified the story.
Tire Review has reached out to Michelin for confirmation. The tiremaker has not responded to the request.
The Indonesian facility is reportedly worth $300 to $400 million, and construction will begin next year. The plant is expected to start production in 2019, according to those reports.
