Held at the International Centre-Toronto on Apr. 2-22, the event brought nearly 20,000 trucking industry senior executives, fleet managers, owner-operators and drivers.
"This was our first time at the show," said Harvey Brodsky, TRIB’s managing director, "and we will be back. The reception TRIB received was more than we ever expected."
Brodsky made two presentations at Truck World 2006 one for fleets and the other targeting owner-operators focusing on ways to reduce operating costs by using retreaded tires and properly maintaining and repairing tires.
In addition, TRIB had an exhibit at the show where it displayed a variety of retreaded tires and distributed TRIB information packets.
"We knew there would be a lot of interest because, as the costs associated with owning and operating trucks and equipment continue to rise, truckers are seeking ways to control expenses," Brodsky said. "Retreaded tires provide the same safety, reliability, performance and handling as new tires but at a far lower cost as much as 50% less."
