Rudy Consolacion has been named engineering manager for the Tire and Rim Association (TRA).
Joe Pacuit, TRA executive vice president, said Consolacion will coordinate TRA meetings; administer ISO tire, rim and valve activities; develop U.S. positions on ISO ballots and proposals; create and maintain TRA engineering programs; and coordinate industry standards with other related organizations and stakeholders.
TRA is the standardizing body for tire, wheel and valve manufacturers in the U.S., and coordinates on international standards as well as interacting with other industry and government organizations.
“Rudy is a great addition to our organization,” said Pacuit. “He has extensive engineering experience in the industry, is well-connected in the tire world and is passionate about our business.”
Consolacion, who is a contributing editor for Tire Review, spent 13 years with Kumho Tire USA, where he developed high-performance product lines for OE and replacement markets, and also managed Kumho’s motorsports programs. Prior to that, he spent nine years as a passenger tire engineer for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech and resides in Copley, Ohio, with his wife and two sons.
